A favorite pick from the Naked 3 palette

IMG_9624I have a huge bbundleof love for the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. I have all three plus the Naked Basics, and I have never regretted purchasing them – even though they are quite pricy. I go on and of on which palette I use the most, and also which colours I prefer. These last couple of months however, I have been sticking to the Naked 3 Palette and three shadows from this little baby.

Burnout (the colour where the brush head is strategically placed) is a gorgeous red shimmery shade. I would never think of putting a red on my eyelid, but this one works amazingly with my eyecolour (an undefined shade of blue/green/grey). The shade next to that guy is Limit, a soft and cool brown. This is perfect for light definition, and works great with my third favorite; shade number seven from the right is Nooner. Quite similar to Limit but darker, it is a perfect crease colour as it creates a subtle, but defined look.

Also known as the Abercrombie & Fitch scent. This scented candle from Bath&Bodyworks might be one of the most often spoken about scented candle among the American YouTube girls. It’s as dreamy as they say, but be warned, it smells like straight up male. It reminds me of the Voluspa Suede Blanc, only younger – if that explains it. The scent is quite heavy, and perfect for the colder weather. I ordered my Bath&Bodyworks candles on Ebay, and am tempted to order some of the autumn candles. If you have any recommendations, please share!

5 tips for those mornings when you just don’t have time

Such a long title, but such an important post. At least I feel quite calmed down, just by typing it up. Knowing you have five steps that will make those mornings kind of okay, even though you are stressed out of your mind. Here are five tips that can help you when you’re short on time in the morning.

1. Shower

Yes, I know, you’re short on time – but that also means that you have overslept and are feeling quite tired. Jump in the shover for a couple of minutes, to wash the sleep away. I mean that physically as well as mentally.

2. Have breakfast

Anything, if it’s just an apple or some cereal, will help you turn this stressful start into a good day. You need food, so if your choice is between food and caffeine I would suggest opting for the latter.

3. Comfortable attire

If you’re not the type of person who lays out your outfit the night before (I am, and it saves a lot of time and energy for these kind of days), go for something comfortable. This does not mean sweats, but a sweater you know you’ll feel cozy and relaxed in. This is also an option for you if you are the type of person who plan outfits, but the chosen outfit feels to tight/harsh/cold or alike. You’re stressed out, make yourself comfortable.

 4. A bare beauty minimum

Skip all the beauty steps you can. If you have time for moisturizer, blush, mascara and lipstick, that’s all you need. You can also save this part for the journey to work or school, if you travel by bus, train or subway. This also goes for hair, a top knot or pony tail is your best friend.

5. Apologize and move on

If you’re like me, then being late gives you major anxiety. If you end up being late because of you shortage of time, then just apologize and move on with your day. Most likely your classmates or co-workers will have forgotten about it at the end of the meeting or class, so you should try to forget it too. I know it’s hard, but when you get to where you’re suppose to be, you can pretend like this wasn’t one of those mornings.

Saturday Obsession: Big slouchy sweaters

I think this weeks Saturday Obsession is quite likely to be prone by the weather. It’s getting colder, and my love for all things woolly and warm is growing.

I love autumn outfits, as the silhouette becomes dramatically different than that of the spring and summer style. The big, knitted sweaters look amazing with skinny jeans an boots. You can dress them up and make them preppy by adding a collared shirt (Very Felicity Porter) or ad a belt and make them more dress-like, and Olsen ish. Okay, enough of my rambling. Here are three examples, all from the Etc. Beauty Saturday Obsession Pinterest Board – where you of course can find many more pictures.

Beauty Craving: another re-purchase

As mentioned in the post about evening skincare, I really enjoy using the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. It really is a luxurious part of my routine, and I don’t automatically get amazing, perfect skin when using it. But when I stop using it, I can literally feel my skin dry up and go a bit dull. As of last week I am in desperate need of a new one, as I have squeezed the last precious drops out of the pipette. As I have no idea where to go next, and as I really like the feel of the Advanced Night repair, I think I’ll be going for a re-purchase soon. Do you have a recommendation for a serum I should try in stead?

MMM Replica “Lazy Sunday Morning”

Do you remember this post for the weekly Beauty Craving? Well I purchased this perfume a month a go, and I am completely and utterly in love.

As I mentioned in the BC post, there is something masculine and sexy, yet fresh and flowery about the “Lazy Sunday Morning” scent. I really feel like Maison Martin Margiela captured something unique with their Replica perfumes. The bottle in itself is gorgeous, quite understated compared to many perfume bottles, and perfect for keeping on the vanity. I also love the way the scent stays on me during the day, and even for those really early morning commutes, it’s never offensive or too much. I just love the smell of soft skin and bed linen, and this way I can keep Sunday with me all week long.

Online Fave: The Row

So, this is quite an old video (anno 2007), but my love for it is still so strong. The Row – You know, the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen clothing brand – offers amazing basics, and has such a pleasing silhouette to most pieces. This video is equally pleasing aesthetically, and the flow is just so good.
